Oro Valley is just 6 miles north of Tucson in the western foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains at the base of Pusch Ridge. Catalina Foothills is a huge area in northern Tucson full of upscale, high-income homes with a population of approximately 50,796 at the 2010 census. This neighborhood is considered one of the most affluent communities in Arizona and the United States. Statistics prove that Catalina Foothills has the 6th highest per capita income in Arizona, and the 14th highest per capita income in the U.S. of communities with a population of at least 50,000. Located at the foot of the Santa Catalina Mountains, this area offers tons of upscale shopping plazas and malls, world-class resorts and golf courses, as well as expensive residential neighborhoods. Marana is a town located northwest of Tucson with a population of 34,961 according to the 2010 census.
